How does the point system work?

Points are how we assign land fairly. Instead of access going to whoever knows the right person, it goes to the hunters who hunt their land, report honestly and treat landowners well. Your record speaks for you.

how you earn points

  • Filing a report for every outing, including days you didn’t see a deer

  • Taking deer, with antlerless deer worth the most, since they matter most for bringing the herd down

  • Releasing days you can’t use so another hunter can hunt them

  • Completing the season survey

  • Coming back season after season in good standing

What points are used for

Points only affect access to land: who gets first consideration when a property becomes available and how days are shared on busy properties. Points you earn from hunting and reporting count for the current and previous seasons, and every consecutive season in good standing adds a loyalty bonus on top. Long-time hunters are rewarded, and newer hunters can still earn their way up.

how you lose points

  • Missing a report for a hunt you booked

  • Not showing up for a booking without cancelling

  • Hunting without a booking or outside your time slot

  • Stand or camera rule broken (unlogged stand, screw-in steps without permission, camera facing a house or people)

  • Hunting a property while the landowner has paused or blackout dates

What never costs you points

  • An honest report. A day you saw nothing, or a deer you hit but couldn’t recover, will never count against you.

  • Whether you donate your deer or keep it.

  • What you say in the survey.

What points can’t fix

Trespassing, carrying a weapon after legal hours, unsafe shooting or a false report means removal from the program, regardless of points.
